Jeanae M. Hopgood

Jeanae M. Hopgood, LMFT, M.Ed., PMH-C, CAGCS, a dedicated mental health professional, embarked on her journey in private practice under the banner of JHJ Therapy in 2016. With a robust 13-year background in the mental health field, she sought to return to her true passion: providing specialized, targeted psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families within marginalized groups and communities.

Jeanae's expertise shines in addressing a range of critical areas including family-of-origin challenges, sexuality and sexual health, perinatal mental health, and grief and loss, with a specific focus on family creation and perinatal loss. Her academic journey, which culminated in a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2007, speaks to her commitment to her profession.

Over the years, she further enriched her knowledge base, earning a second master's degree in Human Sexuality Studies with a specialization in sex therapy, complemented by certifications in Perinatal Mental Health and Advanced Grief Counseling. These qualifications, in addition to her continuous training in therapies like EMDR, Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy, and expertise as a Gottman Method Leader, form the foundation of her extensive skillset.

Jeanae's mission revolves around working with BIPOC and queer BIPOC individuals and couples as they navigate the complex challenges of life. Her practice embodies compassion, expertise, and a deep commitment to empowering individuals and communities to achieve their highest level of well-being and resilience.
